My Lord,
With reference to Your Lordship's despatch
No.85 of the 8th March, 1920, I have the honour to forward
for your information the enclosed copy of the report of the Committee appointed to enquire into the administration of the Victoria Gaol consequent on the outbreak from the Gaol
and the murder of two warders in December, 1919. It will be
seen from the report that matters were by no means so bad in
the Gaol as was suggested at the Coroner's inquest and steps
are now being taken to carry out the recommendations of the
Committee.
I have the honour to be,
My Lord,
Your Lordship's most obedient,
humble servant,
7.2. Stubbs
Governor,&c.
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
VISCOUNT MILNER, G.C.B.,
